Family & Successors

According to Manaqib-e-Sultani and Miraat-e-Sultani,Hadrat Sultan-ul-‘Arifin Sultan Bahu(RA) had eight sons and one daughter from four fives, namely:

Sons

1. Sultan Noor Muhammad
2. Sultan Wali Muhammad
3. Sultan Latif Muhammad
4. Sultan Saleh Muhammad
5. Sultan Ishaq Muhammad
6. Sultan Fateh Muhammad
7. Sultan Sharif Muhammad
8. Sultan Hayat Muhammad  

Daughter

1. Mai Rehmat Khatoon (daughter)

Wives

1. The first wife belonged to the family of Makhdoom Burhan-ud-Din Ahmad, Langar Makhdoom Wala, District Jhang.
2. The second was out of Awan family.
3. The third was a close relative.
4. The fourth belonged to a Hindu money-lender family, who accepted Islam at his hands

Progeny

Hadrat Sultan Bahu (RA)’s progeny lasted only through his three sons: Sultan Noor Muhammad, Sultan Wali Muhammad and Sultan Latif Muhammad. The other sons did not have offspring while one of his sons, Sultan Hayat Muhammad, died in childhood.  

After Hadrat Sultan-ul-‘Arifin passed away, his eldest son Sultan Noor Muhammad (RA) moved to Garang Fateh Khan, Layyah, on the western bank of the Indus. He returned to the darbar of Hadrat Sultan Bahu (RA) after 20 years where he died and was laid to rest beside the holy grave of his saintly father. His descendants still live in Basti Qazi near Layyah.

Sultan-ul-‘Arifin’s second son, Sultan Wali Muhammad, was his spiritual successor at the darbar. His descendants live in the vicinity of Chah Samandary, the earlier burial place of Sultan-ul-‘Arifin), around the present darbar, at Ahmadpur Sharqiah and Rahim Yaar Khan. His burial place is near Rahim Yar Khan, off Jamal Din Wali Road.  

All the successors at Darbar Sultan Bahu were from the descendants of Sultan Wali Muhammad (RA), who also inherited his property.

Some of Sultan Latif Muhammad’s descendants lived in Sabzal Kot (Sadiqabad). They lead a life in obscurity. Now, only the descendants of Hadrat Sultan Bahu (RA) from his two sons, Sultan Wali Muhammad and Sultan Noor Muhammad, are known.
