Abyat-E-Bahu (Punjabi Verses):The Punjabi Abyats of Hadrat Sultan Bahu (RA) are the most beautiful spiritual verses ever written in the Punjabi language, where the majesty and attributes of Allah are described as sublime and magnificent. Composing such a masterpiece not only necessitates a great gift for the supernatural but something much more, the gift of inner purity and Divine love. His verses are pictures of the Beloved. They heal, soothe, and reassure. They provide truth, light, and guidance that will make the seeker to ultimately attain the goal of life—union with Allah. His verses speak powerfully and convincingly to the hearts of listeners. They possess unique characteristics, a wealth of ideas, and beauty of style. They contain the essence of mysticism and have perfected Divine knowledge.

Persian Poetry: Composed in the tradition of classical Sufi Persian poetry, Dewan-i-Bahu is a small volume containing fifty-four Persian ghazals (odes). The recurrent themes in these ghazals arelove, divine beauty, Faqr, Unity of Being, etc. Hadrat Sultan Bahu (RA) has employed the usual mystical language and the style of Persian Sufi poets. Though parallels can be drawn with the language and diction of Maulana Rumi, Hadrat Sultan Bahu (RA)’s style has its own grace, grandeur and appeal, which stirs the heart.
