Muhammad Maqbool Sultan, a descendant of Sultan Bahu (RA)

Today the unique and far-reaching spiritual legacy of HADRAT SULTAN BAHU (RA) lives on, inspiring millions of truth seekers all over the world. In accord with express wishes of Muhammad Maqbool Sultan, this website has been created to spread the wisdom of HADRAT SULTAN BAHU (RA), so that the message of this beloved world teacher is preserved in its original form. Born into the family of the famous saint of Punjab, HADRAT SULTAN BAHU (RA), he (Muhammad Maqbool Sultan) has developed a deep interest in Faqr and Tasawwuf since early childhood. His early childhood years have been both exciting and extraordinary. He studied at Aitchison College Lahore and then did his Masters from the FC College, Lahore.

Beginning in childhood he had a special kind of intense longing for something he could not quite put his finger on. He tells us that it was very powerful that he finds it difficult to come up with appropriate words to describe it. It was the love for the Creator. One thing he can tell us is that there is an inexpressible bliss in this deep longing. It has coloured his entire life to the extent that he does not want to mingle with people or pay any attention to worldly pursuits. He describes the Divine Beloved something unattainable but wonderful. As a matter of fact, the central theme of his life is about nothing else but the Divine Beloved. He is an intellectual and has a mind and heart awake to spirituality. He has legendary kindness, intellectual vigour and a love for nature.

His saintly father Haji Sultan Abdul Majid (RA) was an influential Sufi scholar. He was a fascinating and enigmatically unique spiritual master. Truly a genius, a saint and a jewel of Hadrat Sultan Bahu’s family, Haji Sahib, as he is called lovingly, reflected an image of a true believer and a selfless Sufi during his time and fretted about the shallowness of the soul and a spiritual complacency that seemed to permeate the culture of materialism. Haji Sultan Abdul Majid (RA) personally chose his son Muhammad Maqbool Sultan, trained and gave him specific instructions for the dissemination of his ancestral teachings.

Muhammad Maqbool Sultan fits the description of a true spiritual guide, and a God-realized master. He is a living example of a saint, in wisdom, action and love for the Divine. His indomitable inner strength and spiritual barakah (spiritual influence) resides in his sweetest natural humility. He is a simple soul, filled with compassion for others. He is a down to earth, unassuming, gentle and cheerful person. I cherish him for his wise counsel, powerful prayers and spiritual insight. Men like him act as a window through which the goodness of God shines on the world. He is a clear reminder of the goodness of human nature and the beauty of being truly open to God.
